I had my very first book signing at a Barnes and Noble today for my book Silas Jayne: Chicago’s Suburban Gangster. It was a huge amount of fun. It was a weird day with so many people out of town this weekend. I still had a blast. I got interviewed by a reporter from the Elgin Courier newspaper. I got my photo taken for the paper.
I also have found out that there are a lot more of the Jayne family alive than I realized. I am hoping that I have not made any of them angry, however. I mean, I got all of the details of my book from other books and from newspapers. I didn’t make things up. So, I hope they appreciate that. I guess we’ll see.
The day was gorgeous. Fall has come to Chicago and the sky was a glorious blue with puffy clouds that made it look like something out of a postcard. I got to see SpringHill Mall in West Dundee for the first time. It was great. Below are some photos.
